Transistor was invented in 1947 by John Bardeen, William Shockley, and Walter Brattain at Bell Laboratories. They received the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for their creation. Transistors made everything from radios to computers to factory equipment smaller, smarter, and more powerful.
